SANTRY, a parish and village in Coolock barony, Dublin county, 3 3/4 miles N. from the General Post Office, Dublin, comprising an area of 4,726 acres, of which 9 are in the village. Population of parish, 1,117; of village, 110. It is situated upon the road to Swords.

The village contains 24 houses, which we small but neatly built. The Church is a plain building, in which are many tombs of the Domville and Barry families. The Roman Catholic Chapel is at Ballyman. There is a Dispensary and Constabulary Police station. Near the village is Santry house, the seat of the proprietor of the parish, a noble brick mansion within a demesne of 140 acres, richly embellished with timber. The principal other seats in the vicinity are Belcoup, Larchhill, and Woodlawn.

The mail from Dublin arrives at 30 minutes past 7 o'clock, A.M., and is despatched at 40 minutes past 4, P.m.
