18-Aug-1897Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of York arrived in Dublin and received an enthusiastic reception. On the 20th His Royal Highness received addresses in the Throne Room of the Castle, and afterwards took the oath as a member of Her Majesty's Privy Council in Ireland. His Royal Highness and Field Marshal Lord Roberts were also, invested as Knights of the Most Illustrious Order of St. Patrick. Their Royal Highnesses left Dublin on 29th, and after making a tour through Ireland took their departure for Scotland, from Belfast, on 8th September.

13-Dec-1897The Theatre Royal, standing on the site of the old Theatre, and lately the Leinster Hall, opened 
1-Jan-1898William Kenny, esq., ex-Solicitor General, sworn in as one of the Judges of the High Court of Justice in Ireland. Dunbar Plunket Barton esq., sworn in as Solicitor-General for Ireland. 
15-Mar-1898The marble statue, in the Leinster Lawn, of Sir Thomas Farrell, unveiled by Earl Cadogan, K. G., Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. The Earl of Arran invested with the Order of St. Patrick. 
15-Aug-1898The foundation stone of a Monument to Wolfe Tone and the United Irishmen laid in St, Stephen's green. 
18-Aug-1898The Congress of the Institute of Public Health, presided over by Sir Charles Cameron, M.D., begun, when Earl Cadogan, K.G., opened the Health Exhibition. 
28-Feb-1899Earl of Lucan invested with the Order of St. Patrick. 
7-Mar-1899The marble bust, in the Education Office, Marlborough-street, of Sir Patrick J. Keenan, K,C.E. from the studio of Sir Thomas Farrell, unveiled by Edmund G. Deane, esq., D.L. 
8-Oct-1899Foundation stone of a monument to Charles Stewart Parnell laid in Upper Sackville street.
