5-Aug-1848Committal of William Smith O'Brien to Kilmainham gaol, having been arrested the previous evening at the Railway Station at Thurles.

14-Aug-1848Conviction of John Martin for felonious publications in The Irish Felon newspaper, and sentenced to 10 years' transportation.
